Send Email Step
 
 
This Step sends an email message to the specified recipient(s).  It can be used to send alerts when shipments are received or when a PIM indicates that some Alarm condition has occurred.  The Subject and Message fields can include the PIM ID, EventTime, BizLocation, and other event specific information.  A report can be generated and attached to the email as a .PDF file. 
 
The copy of PIM Control that will be expected to execute this Step must have its Email Settings defined.  The Remote Control executes Email Steps by remembering that the email was requested.  The actual email will be sent by PIM Control when the Mission results are Uploaded.

To

Enter a comma-delimited list of email addresses for the recipients of the message.

Subject

Enter a subject line for the message.  You may right-click the mouse to insert event-specific data like the PIM ID and EventTime.  The items currently supported are:
 
BizLocation
BizLocation as specified in the Report Control or Event Settings.
BizStep
BizStep as specified in the Report Control or Event Settings.
EventTime
The date and time of the event.
PIM ID
The PIM ID.
ReadPoint
ReadPoint as specified in the Report Control or Event Settings.

Message

Enter the message here.  You may right-click the mouse to insert event-specific data like the PIM ID and EventTime (see the Subject entry above).

Attach Report

If you would like a report attached to the email, select the report type here.  Otherwise, select "None".  The report will be attached to the email as a .PDF file.
